Meet Dave.
David Baddock is one of our Digital Analysts. With his keen eye for detail, and a soft-spot for spreadsheets, Dave sifts through the data to deliver insights for clients and Augies alike.
Like a skilled investigator, Dave gets stuck into the research and measures an array of complex web interactions. His findings are invaluable: capturing data that informs brand strategies and execution.
When he’s not at work, you’ll find Dave watching any kind of sport possible, quoting The Simpsons, or managing the court with whistle in hand as a referee in the WNBL.
What is one skill in the world of digital you hope to improve this year?
This year I moved in to an Analytics + Insights role. With it comes quite a few skills that I need to hone in on again, or learn from scratch. One, in particular, is Google Tag Manager.
What’s one website you can’t go a day without checking?
Everyone knows I’m a sports nut. So it tends to be one of the AFL, NBA or some other related Basketball website.
What’s on your music playlist right now?
There’s always a fair mix. I’m enjoying Client Liaison, Haim‘s new album ‘Something To Tell You’, and giving the latest Kite String Tangle a run, too.
If you could invent one wearable device, what would it be and what would it do?
That’s a tricky one. We’re so flooded with wearable devices at the moment and I feel like we’re in the midst of working out which are the useful ones and which are the useless ones. Putting my Dad hat on for a moment, probably something which could send the sound of my voice to my little girl so she could hear it during the day when I’m at work.
If you could pick anyone as a mentor, who would it be?
I’d probably pick multiple. Someone from a sporting environment like LeBron James, someone from a business environment like Richard Branson or Elon Musk. But I also think you can learn a lot from the people you surround yourself with everyday too, so in a way, lots of people are mentors to me!
Tune in next month, and get to know another awesome Augie in greater detail!
